Activate Your EKTAG in 7 Easy Steps
Use the Nxcar ekTAG app to activate your physical tag — it takes less than 2 minutes.
Create an Account / Log In
Open the Nxcar ekTAG app.
- New user? Tap Register → enter your email and password → tap Submit.
- Already registered? Enter your email + password → tap Log In.
Go to Inventory
Once logged in, navigate to your tag inventory:
- Tap the More tab at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap My Tag Inventory.
- Click on "Activate Physical Tag" button.
Enter the Physical Tag Code
A screen appears asking for the tag code.
- Flip your physical ekTAG over — the NX-prefixed code is printed on the back.
- Type that code into the field → tap Activate.
Tag Gets Linked
The app automatically:
- Checks if the code exists in your inventory.
- Registers it to your account.
Assign to a Vehicle
After the success screen you get two options:
- Tap "Assign to Vehicle" → pick from your saved vehicles → the tag is attached immediately.
- Tap "View My Tags" → go to your tags list to assign it later.
Tag is Live
Anyone who scans the QR code on the physical tag will now reach the vehicle owner's contact page — without them needing the app.
From now on, a scanner can call, message, or send an alert — all without ever seeing your phone number.
What happens when someone scans your tag?
Instant scan alert
You get a push notification + email the moment someone scans your tag.
Anonymous call
The scanner can call you through the app — your number stays hidden.
Private message
The scanner can send a message that lands in your dashboard inbox.
Common questions
"No tag found with this code."
Double-check the code on the back of your tag — it must match exactly, including the NX- prefix. Common mix-ups: letter O vs number 0, and letter I vs number 1.
"This tag is already activated."
This tag was activated on another account. If it's yours, log in with that account. If you believe this is a mistake, reach out via our contact page.
I can't find my tag in Inventory.
Make sure you're logged into the correct account associated with your order. If the tag isn't showing up, contact our support team — it may need to be assigned to your account manually.
I have more than one tag in my parcel.
Repeat Steps 3–6 for each tag. They all live under one account, and you can assign each to a different vehicle or item.
